PALACE ON WHEELS TOUR
Destination Covered : Delhi - Jaipur - Jaisalmer - Jodhpur - Sawai Madhopur - Chittorgarh - Udaipur - Bharatpur - Agra - Delhi
The grand rail tour onboard the Palace on Wheels takes you to the royal state of Rajasthan, located in northwestern India. The 8-day-7-night trip lets you explore the architectural legacy of the Rajput rulers and dig out the history of Rajasthan. You also get to study the local culture of the Rajasthani folks. The journey begins from India's capital city of Delhi at the Safdarjung Railway Station. We get to see the Pink City of Jaipur, capital city of Rajasthan. Later, we head towards famous desert cities including Jaisalmer and Jodhpur. At Sawai Madhopur, we enjoy a jungle safari at the Ranthambore National Park. After paying a visit to the Chittaurgarh Fort, we move to Bharatpur, famous all over for the Keoladeo Ghana National Park. We visit Fatehpur Sikri and enjoy sightseeing in Agra before finally getting back to Delhi.
Day 1 - Wednesday : Delhi
Arrive at Delhi's IGI Airport to be received by a Palace On Wheels representative. Transfer to the hotel, check in and get refreshed.
1600 hours: Ceremonial welcome onboard the Palace On Wheels at the Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station
1745 hours: Departure for the regal journey of a lifetime.
1930 hours: Dinner served onboard
Day 2 - Thursday : Jaipur
Jaipur, nicknamed the 'Pink City' is the gateway to the northwestern Indian state of Rajasthan. The city was founded by Maharaja Jai Singh II in the 17th century. Here, you can explore the architectural legacy of the Rajput rulers as well as take a stroll through the handicraft-laden markets of Jaipur to load your bags with exquisite items of art and craft.

0830 hours: City sightseeing
1300 hours: Lunch at the Rambagh Palace Hotel
1700 hours: Depart for Jaisalmer
2000 hours: Dinner on board
Day 3 - Friday : Jaisalmer
Located in the midst of exotic sand dunes of the Thar, Jaisalmer has the eminence of being one of the greatest bastions in the world. The desert city offers to see a number of medieval-era forts and havelis where you get to explore the history and the interesting legends of the erstwhile Rajput rulers. You would surely appreciate the interest of the Rajput rulers in works of art and architecture.

0730 hours: Breakfast onboard
0830 hours: Depart for sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer
1300 hours: Lunch onboard and rest
1700 hours: Visit the sand dunes and go on a camel safari
1930 hours: Have dinner and relish the cultural programme
2300 hours: Depart for Jodhpur
Day 4 - Saturday : Jodhpur
The regal city of Jodhpur was established by Rao Jodha in 1459. Known for its magnificent forts and palace, Jodhpur also happens to be the one-time capital of the Marwar state. It is the second largest city of Rajasthan and boasts 100 towers. Mehrangarh Fort is the most impressive of the all the structures in the city.

1300 hours: Lunch at the Umaid Bhawan Palace
1530 hours: Depart for Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambhore National Park)

Day 5 - Sunday : Sawai Madhopur - Chittaurgarh
Sawai Madhopur is located just at a distance of 11 km from the world-renowned Ranthambore Nationl Park. The national park is home to a huge variety of flora and fauna, the main attraction being the Royal Bengal Tiger.
Chittaurgarh is famous for its fort which is a complete tale of valour and romance in itself. The fort was built back in the 7th century. At that time, the Chittaurgarh Fort included a number of wonderfully ornate palaces.
0400 hours: Arrive at Sawai Madhopur.
0630 hours: Breakfast onboard.
0700 hours: Visit the Ranthambhore National Park
1100 hours: Depart for Chittaurgarh.
1300 hours: Lunch served onboard.
1530 hours: Arrive at Chittaurgarh.
1600 hours: Depart for local sightseeing.
2000 hours: Depart for Udaipur and dinner onboard.
Day 6 - Monday : Udaipur
The city is known the world over as the 'City of Lakes'. Udaipur, one of the most romantic cities of India, was built by Maharana Udai Singh during the mid-16th century. The city stands on the banks of the picture-perfect Lake Pichola and offers to see numerous palaces, lakes, museums, temples and gardens. The biggest draw is the Lake Palace.
0645 hours: Arrive at Udaipur/Breakfast served onboard
0730 hours: Depart for sightseeing of the one of the most romantic cities in the world
1230 hours: Lunch at the mystical Lake Palace Hotel
2000 hours: Depart for Bharatpur/Dinner served onboard
Day 7 - Tuesday : Bharatpur & Agra
Bharatpur heads a traveller's itinerary for its world famous Keoladeo Ghana National Park or the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. Birdwatchers arrive here from all parts of the world. The sanctuary is known to shelter a huge variety of flora and avifauna, aside from a few exotic species of fauna.
0600 hours: Arrive at Bharatpur and visit Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary
0830 hours: Breakfast at the Bharatpur Forest Lodge
After enjoying a bird safari at the Bharatpur bird sanctuary, head to Fatehpur Sikri (22 kms/14 miles), the red-sandstone city built by Mughal Emperor Akbar, by air-conditioned coach.
Agra, the 'City of Taj' is our final stop before getting back to Delhi. Standing on the banks of the sacred River Yamuna, Agra is the erstwhile bastion of the mighty Mughal Empire and home to the mesmerising Taj Mahal, which has retained its position even in the list of the New 7 Wonders of the World. The city lets you study and explore the architectural opulence of the Mughals.
1030 hours: You will be driven to Fatehpur Sikri
1300 hours: Lunch at the Mughal Sheraton Hotel / Board the train
1500 hours: Sightseeing tour of Agra
2000 hours: Depart for Delhi/ Dinner onboard
Day 8 - Wednesday : Delhi
Arrive as early as 0730 hrs at Delhi's Safdarjung Railway Station. Enjoy a farewell breakfast onboard and then it's time to head back home with memories that you would cherish for a lifespan.
